i noticed my usb drive is FAT32. does that mean every file i have transferred onto my windows xp with it is FAT32? is there a way to reformat these drives?should i reformat it if so? im just curious as to other peoples thoughts on this.

haha nah, files are just files. there's nothing like (an example software you copy on your pc) , windows live messenger FAT32 edition :P:P .. or ntfs edition. The file system of your usb is Fat32. you can make it ntfs though, just follow the guide on THIS page.

hope it helps mate

i don't think it really matters.... i think it does from windows to Mac OS...

but i think my USB is NTFS and my external hard drive it FAT32... i think... *checks computer management* damn other way round.... USB = FAT32... External Hard Drive = NFTS

You'll only be bothered by FAT32 if you transfer Files larger than 4GB, which I doub't you'll be doing much of on a USB Drive, Or if you use File Compression - Indexing (?) & Background Defragmentation

i just remember when ntfs first came out and how they said it was much more secure. so when i noticed my brand new usb drive was FAT32 it didnt make sense to me
