USB Drive Help (Kinda urgent ;))

Hello,
I am thinking about purchasing a USB drive soon and am having some trouble deciding which is better. I have a Windows XP on my downstairs computer, and 98SE on my upstairs one. I was hoping to be able to transfer files between the two to each other and then being able to use them on computers at school.

Here are the two I am looking at:

Or

I like sandisk, as I have many of their products, but all I hear is bad things about this "U3" software, I also heard it would last longer.

For the PNY, I heard is was made out of bad plastic, and that it would not last as long, but it doesn't have "U3" and comes with windows 98 drivers.

Thank you for your help,

u3 is just software for portable applications(although its not all too usefull because its easy to run applications without it)so you dont need it especially since you just want to transfer files but it might be nice to play around with and from the reveiws on the pny there seem to be many bad ones while the sandisk looks high quality and has good reveiws and since the price difference isnt much id go with the sandisk

Thank you :D
No offense, but I still would like some more opinions (My friend also chose sandisk) I just kinda worry about the windows 98 portion...

Well, the only OS that USB drives need drivers for is Windows 98 (not second edition). The U3 software is just another version of USB device management software that is contained on the drive in addition to the normal Windows tool. While it does take up some space, it's really not that much of a 1GB drive... As for the PNY drive, I do not know anything about the quality of the plastic, or anything like that. I personally have concerns about the Sandisk retractable feature getting jammed or breaking. With these pieces in mind, I'd go with what is cheaper..., and that'd be the PNY. :)

EDIT: I looked around for where it says that the PNY has Windows 98 drivers... Is that for first edition or second edition? Furthermore, if you need to use one of these on a 98 first edition computer, every manufacturer that I know of has a set of drivers you can download from their website.

Thank you. I also took into consideration of the retractable USB thing...
God I hate decisions...

Does anyone have either or them?
