USB Drive Question

I wasn't sure where to post this but just probably a simple answer to a weird question will work. =)

Whenever I restart my computer I get an icon on the bottom right of my screen with all the other ones telling me if I click it it is safe to remove hardware. When I open it up it has two USB devices that is telling me to stop so that they are safe to remove. I understand this part. Problem is, I never use a USB on this computer and once I click it to stop and remove the device, if I restart the computer again it shows up again. Any ideas why? Here is what the devices are:

1. HP Photosmart D7400 USB Drive ( which I have a photosmart printer but haven't used a USB for it.

2. Generic- SD/MMC USB Device
Generic- Compact Flash USB Device
Generic- SM/xD Picture USB Device
Generic- MS/MS Pro USB Device

those last 4 are all under one. Never heard of these and why would it keep telling me to safety remove the hardward everytime I restart my computer if I haven't been using a USB Drive?

Your HP printer has a memory card reader in it and your computer has a memory card reader built-in, both are attached via USB. On the printer, look for a single slot where a memory card could be inserted. On your computer, look for 4 slots of different sizes for different sized cards. You don't need to use the icon to safely remove until you have plugged a memory card in to any of those slots and then wish to remove the card.

Thanks for your response but there is nothing in those slots. I see all the different places to put one in my printer and I see the 4 slots on the CPU but there is nothing in there. Just curious why it would tell me it is safe to remove hardware if there is nothing in it. I have cleared out the message and then restarted the computer and it comes back again.
