USB HDD enclosure - supported GB & jumper settings

I am considering purchasing a USB 3.5" HDD enclosure from eBay but i have a couple of questions...

1. Do i need to check that the HDD enclosure can support the size of drive i intent to put in it, or is it simply an interface between the drive and the PC, regardless of drive size? It's a 250GB i'm intending to use.

2. What should the jumper be set to on the hdd when it's inside the enclosure? master, slave or cable select?

And yes, i am familiar with eBay and it's risks etc... just some technicaly guidance i'm after, if possible.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! :D

It simply serves as an interface between the drive and your machine. The jumper setting shouldnt matter leaving it on master should work find works fine on the one i have.
