USB Hub

Hello,
Lets say I bought a 4-Port USB Hub and plugged it into 1 of my USB's on my MacBook. On the computer would it appear as 1 USB or 4 seperate one's?

It should appear as 4 separate USB ports. Although, whether you could use them or not would depend on whether or not the devices would need power from the hub, and then you'd need the hub to be a powered hub (have it's own power supply). Furthermore, the extra ports usually don't show up until you plug something into them. Not always, but usually.

That has nothing to do with what he asked.
 
It depends on what you have plugged into the hub, the hub should have come with a information leaflet, the more powerful items you have conected the more power its going to need so then you need to plug the external power source in, if its just for..an MP3 Player you can let it run of the computers power source.

Again with the posts that have nothing to do with the original question...
 
If you only have one USB plugged in then that will only show up. It will not show up all the USB slots until you use them all.
