USB Jump Drive Problem

I just got a 256MB Mobile 2.0 Mini Drive and my computer won't let me put files on it. When I try to a message comes up and says:

Cannot copy "file name": The directory or file cannot be created.

How do I fix this problem?
 
its says it has a write protect switch. did you switch it to the position where it wont lock the drive allowing you to put stuff on there?
