USB Key?

Im about to go off to college, and Id love to get my hands on some kind of program that lets me basically lock my computer with a usb jump drive. I have seen programs that if the key is not inserted, it logs off of windows and will not go back until the key is reinserted, but you had to pay for it...

I was just curious as if there was a freeware program for this...But i guess beggars cant be choosers, lol

The second link, "Digital Innovations PC Defender Wireless PC Screen Lock", looks pretty cool!

ICANSEEYOU7687, not sure if that is exactly what you are looking for but I think for $30 it should work.

I thought so to, but i was wondering about it, It says its wireless, and it locks your pc when you walk away. but im wondering if you need to keep the other part in your pocket or something, otherwise anyone could walk over and unlock it.

From site: "Simply install the software, plug one transceiver into your USB drive and put the other on your belt or in your pocket. When you leave, the screen automatically locks and displays a screen saver. When you walk back into range, the screen unlocks by itself."

... I think I am adding that to my monthly technology-gadgets-I-need-to-buy list...

haha the only problem with that is...wut if you lose it? LoL there is only one, so you'd be kinda screwed wouldnt you?

If you have windows XP why dont you just enable your password on your screensaver and set it to come on in one minute when you are done using the computer...thats what I do to keep the kids off it when I am now around, it works great and its free!
 
Well I have a couple USB things, ones like 16 megs, another is like 32, and my main one is 512. So making a backup wouldnt be a problem...

Yea I could do that...but it's just cool 2 have a key to ur computer, lol

You could always get an old Pentium II that has a key lock built into it to prevent people from using a keyboard.
