Is it possible to use a usb microdrive on the cell phone. Its a small usb. My microdrive usb is standard size like for the computer. What are my options if any. thanks

The usb port on the phone is for charging. However, most androids if not all have the ability to set the default connetion for when hooking up to a computer, either to charge or for data storage. Look in your settings and see if you have a connect to pc section and then default connection type. Thats the only way you can transfer data.

Thanks JohnB. I checked the documentation and makes comment about hooking up to computer. Just wondering do they make some kind of adapter from standard usb to micro usb. Then again a standard micro drive ya carry in your pocket might be a little to much for the cell phone to use even if they made a cable to go from one to the other.

I doubt they make an adapter like that, just tried looking and couldn't find anything that a usb flash drive could connect to. I mean, thats the whole purpose os using a pc, hook the phone up to it and transfer that way. Besides, I think there would be more of a chance of something like that getting broke or the phone port getting damaged.

I just ordered a 16G Kingston Wi-Drive which is a wi-fi enabled external flash drive. I haven't got it yet so can't comment on how well it works but reviews are favorable. There is an app in the Market for Wi-Drive that you run on your Android device that allows you to connect to the drive. You are supposed to be able to stream music and video from the drive. Kingston Wi-Drive

I ordered it for my Kindle Fire which does not have expandable storage. They are available in 16, 32 and 64G sizes.

Here's a link to a demo video: Wi-Drive Demo
