usb ports are not working

please help me i was just using my computer and my usb ports just stopped working. I am currently on my Inspiron 5160 and i have no idea what happened. There is no damage to the ports and nothing that i can see externally, what can i do to fix this?

go under control pannel, system, device manager and try removing the usb root hub and controllers. Then search your computer for new hardware and let it reinstall them. See if that doesn't fix you up.
