USB Power Is Always On..

I've gone through my Bios settings and saw nothing that looked like it had anything to do with this issue.. My USB ports are always powered on..

I have USB powered speakers (until my x-230's get here this week :D) and a USB powered optical drive and I can get power to them even when the computer is completely shut down.. what gives?

Is there a specific setting in the Bios I should be looking for to turn this off? I want my USB ports powered down when the computer is shut down..

Are they plugged into the mains? My USB drive powers when PC is off as it uses the electricity power instead. Logitech X-230 speakers are really good also.

The USB ports I'm referring to are on the mobo itself, as well as the USB board on the front of my tower which is connected to a secondary USB lead on the mobo (USB1 I believe..)

However, all USB ports on the computer have power when the computer is off..

Thats completely normal for the USB ports to remain on. The only way you can completely disable the ports while the machine is off is to completely shut the computer down by flicking the I/O switch on the back of the power supply. Then you'll notice that everything's turned off after that, including the USB ports.

Is it an Award BIOS? Because I have the same problem in my Gigabyte board and I had a look in troubleshooting in the manual and to my surprise it had what I was looking for in there. Apparently it's normal and "a small amount of electricity is left in standby after the computer shuts down."

I'm not sure if it's got Aware BIOS.. it's possible I suppose.. I check on that in a few..

I have two machines here, one is the machine in my sig, which has this USB issue, and the other is a pre-built (but heavily customized) Acer T180 which doesn't have this issue.
