USB power with midis

I was recently looking into buying one of those multi port usb hubs with like 5-7 extra USB ports, but I was wondering if they are able to power up midi devices that run on usb power and if anyone knows of any it’d be appreciated thank you.

I'd get one with an external power source if you need to power that volume of devices.

To add a bit more to this, a usb2 hub can draw up to 500mA from the USB system itself. And that must be shared between all devices connected to it as the port powering it is the limit. So a hub with external power is a must if you are going to connect a number of devices.

USB3 raises that to 900mA, but again that is shared among all connected devices.
