USB problem on Sony Vaio

Hello All,

I recently purchased a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ190 with Vista Ultimate. I wanted XP on it, so I've dual booted it and currently running XP professional and vista ultimate. I've had to search high and low for the XP drivers for most of the things, and the last one I just can't sort out.

Right now none of the USB ports work. I connect anything...a flash drive, mouse, portable hard drive... and there is nothing. In looking at the Device Manager. The USB ports all seam to have an error (Code 29) which says that they need the right driver. I called Sony, and they were of no help, but told me that it should be the responsibility of the motherboard Chipset to take care of the USB ports. I already have the correct Chipset drivers installed, so I was wondering if anyone out there would have any suggestions or solutions to get this to work. My laptop is finally ready for work and I can't even connect a mouse to it now.

Thanks in Advanced
Damien

first of all, welcome to computer forum :D

my brother reinstalled xp on his circa 2002 viao, and we learned something important from the experience: sonys driver support is crap covered with diarrhea. it really is pathetic.
i suggest you check independent sites for any drivers you might need, but i have a feeling you already tried that.
