USB Problem

whenever i plug something into one of my USB ports. A 'Found New Hardware Wizard' always comes up saying, if your hardware came with an installation cd, put it in now. ive been on lots of pcs, this never happens. is it something to do with usb drivers?
 
If you boot the system with the device already plugged into a port that message won't appear as long as you already have the drivers/software installed for it. The usb bus allows for hot swapping but still has that seen when plugging somthing in while Windows is up and running. This is part of the Windows hardware detection process and expected there.

Try rebooting the system while it is plugged in to see if the drivers went on properly for the one or more devices used. If prompted a reinstall then may see Windows make them active.
 
Give that a try to see how things go. With some devices you have to have them plugged when booting to have Windows load the drivers as it detects them during bootup.
