Usb problems?

Hi sorry if this is the wrong place i post this but i have to try. My usb port is acting very weird its works fine when i put my mouse in the usb but when i wonna use a memory stick or connect my mp3 it just says "new hardware found" and starts searching for drivers and nothing happens further i cant even see there is a memory stick connected to the computer in my computer.

I dont know what i should do so i hope you guys can help me!

how do i find drivers to my usb? i didnt got any when i bought til computer... yearh have tried all the ports
 
To update your drivers you go in the hardware manager and click on the + beside the usb controller icone. Then right click on what appears under and click update drivers.
 
arg nothing seems to work :( and i cant reinstall the drivers because i didnt get any motherboard cd when i bought my laptop... this is really anoying cant transfer any songs to my mp3 or any files to my memory stick
 
Im sure if you search for your motherboard on Google, you will get the official web site which will definately have drivers for you to download on it connerning your usb ports, but if it is not that check that your usb ports are usb 2.0 and that that is what your mp3/memory stick needs to run on it... it might just be that you need to install drivers for tham on your computer even though you dont on others... pcs can be wierd like that sometimes
