USB Sound Card

Hi all,

Just wondering if there are any ridiculously cheap (But ok) usb sound cards?

My aim is to run it through my Corsair K60 (When it arrives) and plug my fatility headset into it.

Will i lose any sound quality from my onboard sound or will it sound the same regardless of which usb sound card i get?

For comparison i have seen one on play for £3. Should i stay clear and invest in something better or stick with that until i can afford a 7.1 usb headset?

TurtleBeach sells some ridiculously cheap usb sound cards. You might be able to find a SteelSeeries Siberia somewhere as well. I had it and it is quite good.

As for the sound quality, it doesn't matter at that point which sub header will you plug it into, it is a digital sound and will perform the same through any port, be it directly from the mobo, or through the hub.

Your motherboard sound card will be much better than anything via usb. Stick with that until you can afford either a dedicated proper PCIe sound card and headphones, or a 7.1 simulated headset like the G35.
