Hi all ive just purchased a kick-arse pc,now i want to play high end games.Im not a big fan of using the keyboard as a Gamepad; Can anyone point me in the right direction of a decent Gamepad and also is it possible to use a Usb to Firewire adapter,or is Usb ok to use for responsiveness? any help and info is much appreciated and if you are going to tell me prices im in Australia, thankyou.

Well, the problem with using Firewire is that it isn't powered. So you would have to either plug the gamepad into the USB as well. Not to mention there is no difference in response time between Firewire and USB.

I am not aware of any firewire to USB conversion cables. The two protocols are so radically different it's unlikely that anyone will make one. If your laptop has a PCI slot on the side you can get FW cards that fit to give you 2 firewire.

I'm looking for the same thing-say you have a 10 yr old iMac DV+ with USB 1.1 at 12 Mbs-SLOW. And it has FireWire at 400 Mbs. So, the obvious thing is to get one of those, as the iMac doesn't have expansion.
