USB Trouble!

Hello everyone, I am currently experiencing problems with my 64gb Kingston Data Traveler 200 USB. The problems i was having were things like recently saved files and immediate corruption of the files (I did safely remove the USB before ejecting for the computer). After experiencing that I thought to reformat the USB. In the process an error showed up stating that the disk could not be formatted. Now every time the USB is used a window will pop up stating that the USB needs to be formatted and like the previous trial the same error popped up saying it could not be formatted. The USB is pretty much useless now, I am not sure if there is something I missed or did wrong. If anyone has any ideas or solutions, please help!! Thank you!

Usb flash drives are not very reliable. All it takes a little power surge from the usb port when plugged in and its goodbye flashdrive. Try the drive in another system and if it does the same thing then its definately bad.

Alright, well thank you for your help hopefully that will work, if not maybe I will consider getting an external hard drive.

For the record. I think most will not shut off properly. Just unplug and want to know why. I have two. Had them for years. You have to shut off the port in the system tray. I would suspect your pulling under load. that will do it.
Im just saying there is a proper way and wrong way to unplug.
