USB3 fastest..im confused

Yes....but its comparing with eSATA. That was out.
Whats different now two years later. I have them all
and this intel build was at least 3 yrs ago. mine.

Cnet compared it because USB 2.0 and eSATA were basically competing (or it seemed as though they were) for external hard drives.. eSATA is faster than USB 2.0. Thus, it was a luxury to have eSATA ports on your computer. However, with USB 2.0 being included on almost every computer made after 2001, it was much more convenient and practical to manufacture USB 2.0 external hard drives. So it was speed versus convenience. Now, with USB 3.0, it's the best of both worlds; it has basically made eSATA and USB 2.0 useless. Also, as I forgot to add, eSATA does not supply power to hard drives, as USB does.

^ Right for the most part, except that eSATA can run from any SATA port, even a 6GB/s one.

However, I'd rather have a SATA 6GB/s and USB 3.0 compliant eSATAp port...best of both worlds.
