USB's want to install?

When I plug in any USB stick into my computer and right-click it, it says:
Install program or execute in bold.
When I double click it, an error screen says: Application not found.

I know that this started to happen after I installed Age of Mythology.
After I uninstalled the game, it still says the same thing.
Formatting the sticks does not solve the problem.

I can only access my USB sticks by right clicking and then Open.
Is there a way to stop it from thinking that it has software on it to be installed?

Thanks for the help,

An idea...

There is an option in the control panel (Im running Win 7 but the interface is probably the same) that makes Windows seek for Autorun on all connected devices. Try turning it off:
1.Enter Control Panel and click here: (My OS is in Bulgarian, the option in English should be Hardware and sound)
2.Then click here:
3.Then remove this check:
If it doesn't work explore the other settings from the second image.
Hope I helped.:)

It did not work. I already disabled Auto-Play in the services, disabling in the control panel did not work.
But this is about when I'm double clicking it myself.
