Hi guys,
I d like to have 2 screens ...
The thing is I don t really want to buy an extra screen right now BUT I have a very nice laptop!:D
I was just wondering if I could use any of those: ShareKMC, Synergy, MaxiVista or the internal Microsoft tool OR if you guys know better....
And also the different OS they work on ( I m on XP but 'd like to go VISTA...)
Thx a lot for your time .

i think ud need a video capture card. and u could plug the gpu into the laptop's video capture card as the second screen and run software on the laptop to get it to show.

i dont know tho. That's what i think. I dont kno for sure.

There should be a video input port on your laptop and if your graphics card is decent and has dual DVI ports, then yes you can use it as a second screen.

Thx for your answers!

y laptop has a S-Video and a VGA , I know for sure they re OUTPUTS... How do I know if they re ( or at least one ) INPUTS? Also There is a "Expansion Port 2" with a drawing of a little monitor next to it ( here , next to VGA port)

so if i have my step moms lappy, and i find those ports, i MAY be able to connect it to a pc and use it as a secondary screen for gaming and my main screen for research, school work, etc.?

Do you have ViVo (video in video out)? If you do you can connect it to your graphics card provided that you have a tv out. Also I doubt you can run a game and work on the same time, when you enter 3d mode one of the monitors disables, so the game runs on the primary display.

Vivo would be to slow (there would be 1/3 a second response time). There is a program (cant remember the name its been a year or so) that would let your control another computers monitor as a duel screen setup, and that was through ethernet. I heard there was still 1/3 a second response time.

If your not using it for gaming, Im sure you could get used to it.

EDIT: Cant remember if this is the program, but a quick google brought up this.
