Used to be able to span the taskbar on both monitors ?

I upgraded a woman's PC from 2000 to XP, why 2000 I don't know but now with XP I can't make the taskbar extend to both screens. Video card is a Matrox Millenium G450 AGP. Any tips welcome !
 
This is normal behavior for XP. The taskbar is only displayed on the primairy display. You can however get programs that add other taskbars for your secondary screens. Such as Ultramon , or a free alternative, multimon
