Using a MAC address to connect to a computer

I had a laptop stolen recently and wondered if there was any way to connect to it with the MAC address provided someone plugs it into a network with Internet. I assume that it was tweekers so they probably aren't smart enough to spoof an address.
 
No, but even if you could, you'd never be able to determine the location based on IP Address. I mean, you could find the general area, but not a physical address or anything. Cheers.
