Using a Sky + HDD in my pc

I want to use a 160gb sky + hdd in my old XP machine as a second HDD. I have connected it as a slave, and it even shows up in the BIOS, but the computer won't boot past the BIOS screen.

Any one have any ideas?
 
Check that your primary HDD with Windows installed is the primary boot drive in the BIOS.
 
The second HDD (sky + one) is definitely the slave. I even disconnected my optical drive and connected the second HDD into the cables there, but it still won't get past the same screen. It seems that the computer won't boot with the second HDD connected at all.
