Using all the bandwidth.

Long story short my roommate is constantly downloading movies and other stuff. When hes not here my internet is fine, when he is here it literally can take 10 minutes to load a 30 second long youtube video. Any ideas how to limit his bandwidth usage while hes here?

What router do you have? Some routers have quality of service settings you can enable.

It is the xfinity one, it outputs phone, internet and tv. Does that help?

Open your browser and enter http://10.0.0.1 into the address bar. The username is admin and the password is password.

See if you can find a QOS option in there, but it has to be for his local IP address.
