Using Characters While Naming That Aren't Allowed

i am really annoyed by not being able to use : in a name in windows. any way around it?

No way around it, ":" is reserved by the operating system as are "\, /, *, ?, ", <, >, |"

Just like you can't name a folder "con" either.
