I have a Windows 7 laptop and Windows 7 desktop. If I replace my Windows 7 laptop with a Windows 10 laptop, will the new laptop be able to communicate with my Windows 7 desktop via Homegroup?

Sure, man. Home group, much like samba/cifs, doesn't have specific versioning limitations.

I asked, because a lot of people on-line are reporting problems with the issue.

Are there any features you specifically utilize with Homegroup as opposed to a traditional Workgroup?

Yeah, I usually go workgroup as sometimes homegroup can be a pain setting up and working all the time.

I'm not familiar with Workgroup. I have always used Homegroup. If Workgroup is a better option, I guess I could use that.
