So, currently I use one connection on each computer.. but I would like to get rid of one of my computers and use both connection on one compuer and possable get a 44 meg connection.. ?..

I have heard that there is 2 options to do this, hardware (dual wan load balance router) or software.. What is better?.. I would prefer to use software so I dont have to buy any more equiptment.. The two programs I think can do it are wingate or pfsense.. anyone ever use either of them?..

anyone ever do this?.. thanks for any help/advise/comments!

hmm, I am about 90% sure that it is possable. I remember seeing a video of a person who did that.. I just can not find it.. anyone know anything about this?

I know it's possible, and I remember someone asking about it a while ago. I think I remember someone saying that it's as easy as going into the connection options and enabling something called "teaming" but I've never done it.

:O!!!!! I WISH I WAS YOU! the best i get is 9 meg up and 315 kb down... I hate you... JK. Also i dont see how it could work on just a download. however i could see it on tourinting. since tourinting uses peices i could see it download 2 peices at once (BUT REMBORE legal stuff only!)

teaming a nic is basically for fault tolerance. So if one nic fails it rolls over to the other.I think you need a server level nic to do, if possible, what you want to do. I think there is some software called midpoint connection sharing that might do what you want to do. The only multiple connection sharing (isp) that i can remember was ISDN and having dule modems back in the windows NT-4 days.

It comes with a hefty price tag, but I love my speeds.. Im sure you can get faster if you are willing to pay more.. I think you mean 9 meg down, 325 up.. that would be odd internet if it was the other way arround..lol

I dont think using 2 connection will work to increase my websurffing speeds, or downloads from a FTP, only newsgroups or torrents where there is multiple connections taking place.

I am not looking to use one as a primary, and one as a backup, I want to use both at once whenever possable.. I have a 3 meg DSL line to fall back on that I use for the phone only, it was my first connection, then I realised how slow it was so I got cable, I get a good price on the 3 meg and I dont have to worry about downloading or using alot of bandwidth when Im on the phone (make is sound bad)

I will look into midpoint

well. I used wingate and got both connections to work, but it did not increase the speed on a speed test, only with torrents, or things where there is multiple connections taking place, and it did not help the upload..

I decided to drop $125 on a Load Balancing router, I will let you know how it works when it gets here monday. I am told that it will show faster speeds when downloaind from an FTP (single connection) and torrents.,
