I have Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 and I have it on while Utorrent is on, but when I have Kaspersky on Utorrent downloads go sooooo slow and so does the internet, actually Mozilla's doesn't even load Google that it's going that slow! My internet speeds are pretty fast, 5 Mb download speed, 512 Kb upload speed says on my ISP's website (www.shaw.ca). I had Azureus and I never had problems with Kaspersky until last month, and when i switched to Utorrent it had the same problem until I turned off Kaspersky. I seriously need to know why? I tried playing around in the settings but that didn't help either. I hope someone know the answer to this problem.

this stuff will NOT be tolerated on this forum. it will be removed quickly. Do not talk about this stuff, for your account sake.

everyone's doing it so you should do it to? so people jump off a building you should go jump off a building too :)

peer pressure.

I understand that the forum rules do not allow the discussion of p2p issues because of some fear of promoting piracy and such, and as I say, I know it is a forum rule, so I don't entertain threads that want help with this, but the fact of the matter is TORRENTS ARE NOT ILLEGAL.

I download Linux distributions through the use of Torrents, that's how they prefer them to be downloaded. If I was to write a program, or a book, or an essay on the "evils of piracy" I could distribute it as a torrent perfectly legally.

Torrents themselves are not a copyright issue, neither is BitTorrent, uTorrent, BitComet, or any of the other torrent clients out there. People on this forum are very quick to jump all over someone at the mere mention of "these unmentionables".

I do fully understand the rules, and I know that if I don't like them I can go to another forum (I do go to many others, and I do like it here.). But I also like to think of forums as a means of sharing knowledge and information, not stifling it, and pretending like it doesn't exist.

Anyway, just my two cents.

here mine. THORENT SIGHTS ARE BEING SUED! And you tell me a credible reason other than copy right issues! that and a P2P is required. P2P is illegal by itself. Now adding in torrents? That's a whole nother ball bark buddy.

I agree.

Yes, copyright is exactly why they are being sued.

What? Sorry, but I do not know what you are saying here?

Torrents are a technology to facilitate downloading in a more efficient manner than ftp or http. They themselves, have nothing to do with copyright issues.

It's the same as saying that because there are forums on the net used as a medium to discuss cracking we should ban all forums. Or that because there are websites used as a medium to promote pirated versions of software and film, that we should ban all websites. It doesn't make sense, and it's not grounded in reality of what a medium or technology is.

Again, put another way, torrents are a medium used to facilitate downloading in a more efficient manner than ftp or http. They themselves, have nothing to do with copyright issues. Downloading is not illegal by definition, is it?

Ok first, torrents are not always illegal. Many sites use it to disperse games without having to supply all the bandwidth themselves (Maplestory, America's Army, WoW patches ALL use LEGAL torrents). Torrents can be quite a value when they are used legally, but the majority of torrent downloaders are 12 year old kids (unfortunately) downloading that "cool game" he heard about at school.

how about you stfu or hope no one reports you and you get in trouble. it is agent the rule, regardless of what you may say to cover up what your are illegally downloading. we cant be sure its not, but most likely it is. see my point? if you don't i might as well just report you. lord knows if i was a mod this would have been stopped hours ago.
