I leave mine on, I have never noticed a reason to turn it off, cept that one time during WoW and 179fps is err uh yea!!!

This has me curious, where would I see if I have v sync enabled on my machine? I feel insignificant asking questions like this. :o

I turn it off all the time, why do you want your monitor restricting your FPS.

Your monitor already restricts your FPS. All monitors have a refresh rate, every second your monitor redraws the screen XX times. Any FPS above that is not used. My LCD has a refresh rate of 60hertz. I will never see more than 60 FPS on any game, with v-sync on or off, even if fraps says im doing more.

V-sync forces the card to only render FPS synchronous to your Refresh rate. It doesn't really help with anything but when your screen appears to "Tear" which happens when 2 frames collide, or something like that. :)

Always off, allows you to get a higher FPS. I've never noticed any visual tearing or anything like that.

Like I said, V-sync doesn't restrict FPS, your monitor does. V-sync only forces your video card to render as many frames as your refresh rate allows.

I leave it off. True games look better with it on, but I dont like being restricted at 60FPS :)
