hey there im going to sell this old laptop, been meaning to sell it for ages and i guess I should really make it my new years resolution to get it sold. ill put specs at the end of this post, i was thinking £80 for it, its been used quite a bit and the left clicker on left clicks unless you tap it at the right point, there is a scratch on the outside of the lid and its not got an operating system. the specs are:
cpu: intel pentium duel-core t2330 - 1.60 ghz.
screen: 15.4'' x-black lcd (1280x800).
RAM: 2gb ddr2 sdram.
HDD: 200gb
dvd - rw
and GPU: Mobile intel graphics media accelerator X3100.

its a sony vaio VGN-NR21J

Is £80 a fair price to sell it for? and is it ok to sell the laptop with a cd with ubuntu on it? (ive tested ubuntu on it already).
and it has the product key for windows vista home premium underneath it so am i right thinking whoever buys the laptop could get an vista home premium install cd and install it with the same product key?

all help appreciated

The key on the bottom of the laptop is useless unless you use the recovery cd from sony to reinstall vista. It's an OEM key and can only be used with an OEM version.

As far as price goes, its fair I guess since an OS isn't installed.

You could sell it with Ubuntu, see a lot of laptops on ebay they sell with it. You could also download a legal copy of Vista ISO and use your product key with that and it will work. It is legal to do such and I did check with M$ and Sony and they both told me there is nothing illegal about that. You must though download a iso copy of the exact same Vista as the product key says otherwise it will not work legally.
