im overclocking my pentium d. how high should i raise the vcore voltages to reach the highest stable speed? Ps-im using the stock cooler from intel, read my sig for cooling info. And how do i keep track of case temps?
When you OC you get to a point where the system is unstable (you'll know when ) then you add .0025V to the CPU and it should be stable. Read overclocking 101 if you haven't already.
every proc is different.. you'll have to play around with it to see where it stands. You may not have to touch the voltage to get it to the disirable speed however you may need to up the voltage immediately. It all depends on the core and stepping.. me i got a san diego core, one of the best, but one of the worst steppings.. even so i gained around a 25% increase in speed, so i'm happy
