Verizon Westell 327W with Netgear WPN824v2 Router

Hello Everyone:

I am currently using the Westell 327W Modem from Verizon. I keep trying to get my wireless working on that modem to connect to my wii but it didn't work nor the tech support helped me with it. They don't even know how to get it working. So I went out and bought the Netgear WPN824v2 Router and the wireless is connecting fine with my wii. I notice that when I type 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 it goes to my Westell Modem which is also a router. I would like to ask if anyone has this modem and would know a way to disable the router on that modem and use the netgear as a router. If anyone can help please reply. Thank you all in advance.

Yeah, I have the same one... I think it's a little on the crappy side, I don't like the options or interface. I wish they would have sent me the little simple modem, so I could use a Linksys WRT54G or something. Haha...how long did you have to wait to talk to one of the idiots at their tech support place? I always get someone who cannot speak clear English..

Just set your IP under Configuration--> DNS to something different...

For some strange reason my connection is acting up on me. I don't know if it is the modem or vista. I think I might just buy the Westell 6100. The small simple modem and use my netgear. If $40 I buy it from verizon if not I will just grab on off ebay.

Talking about the idiots at tech support, everytimes I get a non english speaking person I quickly hang up and call again. It is VERY hard to talk to someone that doesn't speak english well. Even if you get a good english speaking person that are really dumb. Just a waste of your time.

When you said set your IP under configuration --> DNS to something different, what does that do? Just curious. Not much of an expert in networking but definitely 100x smarter then verizon tech lol

Thanks in advance for your reply
