very new at this OCing

okay well im really noobish with overclocking and i just registered to this site so sorry if i shouldnt post questions like these. basically, i have two computers, one has an intel pentium 4 1.79ghz processor (old) and my new computer has an intel core 2 cpu 6300 at 1.86 ghz...im looking to overclock both of these cpu's but i dont know how to do it. also, i dont know how much to overclock them and if ill need after-market cooling systems. any help will be appreciated thank you.

yea that helped me alot...just make sure you know what your doing before you start doing it. like go into your BIOS look at it then red ocing 101...so you know what there talking about...that helped me alot

the bios is the best way to do it but just use clockgen if u cant

yea i did both...lol then it crashed gay...so now i just have my BIOS clocked

I hate those windows overclocking programs. Iv used clockgen and nTunes and both lock up my computer with a mere 1mhz OC.

thats the only way to if ur BIOS is locked.

I jsut started OC-ing, I have PC probe to monitor temps, and step it up a bit at a time. I dont need calculations though, my motherboard came with DOT, I have sliders
