Very simple networking issue......

Hi there, I've just browsed across this forum in the need of a little help!

I'm sure it's quite a simple thing.....but.....

The scenario is that I have broadband being pumped into my house, all is fine and dandy with a modem/router on the end of the line splitting into the two computers in my office. One cable out of the back of the router splits into a box and is transported 60 yards or so down to another location at my other office. The line comes out in a box on the wall with an ethernet line - said ethernet line goes into the computer down at my other office.

Now......what I'd like to do is split that signal in office number 2 so that I can put another computer onto the line. What is the best way to do that? I'm concerned a little as the other router I have has the normal RJ11 input for the internet - and even if it did fit properly would it work with having a router plugged into the output of the first router......if you catch my drift!

Sorry for the long-winded post, hopefully I've explained what I have and what I would like - so my question is......how would I do it??

Many, many thanks in advance,

Rich.

It going, rj11 to modem to router to switch out to a PC. You would need to run an ethernet cable to each PC from the switch.

*The consumer grade routers that you would buy in the local store are usually 2 in 1 (meaning switch/router with four or more ports), one port per PC*

Let me know how you did...
