Very small computer

you can easily make your own case, it just needs to be as big as the motherboard with a power supply above it and a drive in front of it, if you buy a micro ATX then this can be really really small, or you can buy those small as f**k PC's that are like 7x7 inches. they were £200 last time i looked

or one of these... very small and got some power

I would rather not build my own.

I forgot to mention that this needs to be cheap. As cheap as possible.

your best bet is a micro ATX case.
it will hold a micro ATX motherboard, a small power supply, up to 3 hard drives (i think) and a CD rom.
how big is the cabinet this PC has to be in? because its very ill advised to have a pc in a non ventilated environment

heres how much the insides will cost:

thats everything, all you need apart from that is a case, which is about £50 including a power supply

that brings the total to about £150/$285?? im guessing the exchange rate there

That's not a bad price, but shipping wouldn't be fun from the UK.

With Newegg parts, I can build the whole thing for around $200.
Sempron 64 2800 (skt754)
512MB DDR-400
MSI mobo
80GB HDD
POWMAX 3304 SV Silver Steel MicroATX Desktop Computer Case 230W MATX12V Power Supply - Retail
will that PSU be enough for this computer? If not, then I can get a new one for like $25

Oh and about the non ventilated area, how much is it going to matter? With the last computer, it got pretty warm(like around 80F) but not too bad.

you seriously need more than 128 ram, i have 256 on this laptop im using at the mo and i have to wait about 2 mins after logon to be able to use anything (no startup apps before you knowitalls say owt)
id say 512+ at least for a laptop

Now that thing is cool. But not for this. I do need a CD drive.

I think that my best bet is to get this case:

It's the smallest case that I can find to make a real computer, not one of these funky little things.

There's nothign wrong with 166MHz; the comptuer i had in there before was a 133MHz with 190MB of RAM. It ran NT just fine, and did what it needed to do, which is basically just storing recipes.

=o i like the look of this build i might think bout getting sumtin like it to run a server x.x how much will the total be around?

Well I'm not building anything right now. Things just changed actually, now I don't think I'll be doing this until summer.

Well thanks for the help as always, guys.
