Very Strange Issue

I just a bsod :( however i think i have worked out why. I went to my bios to check OC settings and my CPU and nb were linked, i unlinked, put the nb back down to stock and all is fine at the moment. Could that have been the issue, only i have never heard of anyone having such a problem?

Oh, i also put my memory to a slightly higher voltage than that which was recomended to me

You do have speedstep, C1E, disabled right? Cuz those can mess up when ur overclocked, also check to make sure all sperad spectrums are disabled.

Nope i don't. I just had massive lag earlier but on this system i remembered to get the non-microsoft CPU and RAM watcher thing, and while it was lagging it was very quickly, maybe 4 times per second, going from 0%-60ish% usage on both cores with nothing running at all.

I checked task manager and all that was being used was system idle and task manager, so vista and task manager basically, but it shouldn't be doing that.

It hasn't done it since, but it is still as dodgy thing

thanks for the reply but that would do nothing to help, the is the motherboard network drivers which:

1. aren't causeing the issue
2. Are up to date

no worries. i only mention it because there is a known issue affecting YM onboard network adapters on asus p5 mobos running vista X64 with more than 4 gigs of ram that causes mouse lag and BSOD. It can usually be corrected by getting 10,69 version of the network card driver and the microsoft patch for vista with more than 4gb Article KB929777. but this won't apply to you. good luck with your issue.
