VGA Cooler for 6850.

In terms of future upgrades that are some what realistic for me in terms of money are a VGA cooler, a new case which i've decided to be the Fractal Design Define R4, maybe a new PSU in the future, new ear cups for my turtle beaches, and a new keyboard and mouse but right now i would like to focus on a VGA cooler as the title states.

Henceforth i was looking at this

Is this a good decision? I was really looking towards buying one because my current card gets really load under full load, and i cannot take noise i hate it:mad:

What's the length of your 6850? In CM. This will help us determine if your 6850 is reference. and it has to be that exact cards length, no google searching 6850 length. Really though, wouldn't it be a better idea to sell the 6850, keep the VGA cooler money, and get a 6870?

Its about 21.5 cm/ 8.5 inches, and im not a fan of selling my equipment I'd like to keep it for the memories.
 
Well if thats the case I would live with the sound and save up more until you get a better GPU. Then again I suppose you could always use the cooler for your next card. If your card is 8.5", the cooler should work fine. Whats your current case?
 
I would put that money towards a silent case instead of a aftermarket cooler which probably won't bring noise down a ton. Like a Define R4 which you mentioned or a corsair 550D/330R. And you could also get a aftermarket blower fan but your gpu might not fit one because of the single slot design. And one more thing to thunk about, a passive cooler.
 
That's a nice deal. If you want a new case, go for it.

I do agree with Unicorn though. If you were every going to upgrade the cooling on your GPU, I wouldn't bother. I'd just get a newer and faster card.
 
Well NCIX ran out :/ BUT i grabbed one from micro center for 90 bucks and my dad paid for shipping and tax so Yay :D but i'll probably be back when i have to set it up lol
