vid card upgrade for intel SE440BX-3 mobo

Hello,

I am hoping that someone on this forum can help me answer this. I have an old dell dimension t600:

1.4 ghz (Celeron) (powerleap upgrade from P3 600mhz)
512mb ram (soon to be 768)
16mb vodoo3 3000 video card

I am looking for replacement video card and read on the dell forum that this card worked fine in a system with the same motherboard (intel SE440BX-3):

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161055

The specs for the agp slot are v1.0 at 2x max (and I believe 3.3volts).

My question is will other graphics cards with the radeon 9250 @256mb be compatible as well? I looked on ebay and saw many vid cards with this in them, but no exact match for the newegg item.

The reason I am looking for the upgrade is that I am using this system as my testing system. It is actually running vista right now (not the fastest, but not bad for a 9 year old system either), and I would like to try the beta of windows7 on it as well at some point.

Alternatively, should I be considering a pci vid card? Either 128mb or 256mb would do for my needs.

Any help or point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
nurvus

though i would give this another shot, almost thinking its best to go with a pci vid card. just looking for something that will work decently with vista(&win7) aero. nothing fancy, as i won't be playing any high end games on it. this is just to test stuff out on it. looking for very inexpensive, but reliable solution.

any help would be appreciated.
