Is a NVIDA Geforce 6200 Graphics with TurboCache supporting 256MB 16X PCI Express VIDEO CARD good for the new game like Oblivion and fear? And is it an overall good Vid Card?

it might run those games in low settings but i highly doubt it.

You dubt that it will run those games or that it should do just fine?

look at what i said. it miight run those games in low settings but i doubt it.

How about a NVIDA Geforce 6600 256MB 16X PCI Express video card? is that better?

Witch one of these are better

NVIDA Geforce 6800 XT 256MB 16X PCI Express Video Card
or
NVIDA Geforce 6800 GS 256MB 16X PCI Express Video Card

i would go for something like the 6800GS. anything lower than that and you are gonna have problems running games like FEAR and HL2

a 6600GT will play those games on medium-high settings, depending on your RAM and CPU.

If you're thinking about getting Oblivion I wouldn't try running it on a 6600gt, you'll get crap frame rates and loads of lag!

What's your budget? A 7600GT would be a good choice, it's not that much more expensive than the 6800GS anymore.

What if I use a (939-pin) AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800 + Dual-core CPU w/ hypertransport technology and a 2048 mb (1gbx2) pc3200 400mhz dual channel ddr memory (corsair vaule)?

If it's a gaming computer, i'd personally spend a little more on the video card to avoid bottlenecking your CPU and RAM.

IMO here are your main options. From cheapest to most expensive.

Geforce 6600GT - $120 - To have a good experience with Oblivion performance wise, this is probably about the minimum you should have. Will run on solid medium settings...which still look good.

Geforce 7600GS - $140 - Will most likely run on solid high settings, a few things maxed out, a few at "medium" settings. Not bad.

Radeon x850xt - $170 - Will run Oblivion very well at solid high settings, a lot of stuff maxed out. The only catch is you won't be able to turn on HDR in Oblivion since the x850xt does not have shader model 3.0. The rest of the cards in this "lineup" do have shader model 3.0, although it would probably be best for performance if the 6600GT didn't enable HDR.

Geforce 7600GT - $185 - Will run Oblivion very well, similar to the Radeon x850xt, except you WILL be able to turn on HDR as well. A GREAT card for the money.

I would have included the Geforce 6800GS in this list, but figured the point was moot, since as of right now...the 7600GT is cheaper AND better. And of course, I left some cards out, especially from the ATI side of things, but IMO Nvidia is the way to go in the $120-$200 price range for best price/performance ratio...reason being a lot of the otherwise decently cheap ATI cards do NOT have shader 3.0.
