Video and Audio laptop? Which one?

Hi i've been too many years out of the loop for laptops and gear, what i'm looking for is a laptop that can handle video editing documentaries, and also recording sound production.

I'm not after a Mac, my budget is around $1400 - $1800, I will likely end up playing the odd game on it also.

Personally I prefer a mid size laptop, no need for the numerical pad, so I guess just standard 15.6 is fine.

Any ideas?
Much appreciated any help, maybe could point me in the right direction. Oh and i'm in Australia but have bought from US before.

Also you can use http://www.staticice.com.au/ to check your getting the absolute best price for a given laptop.

I can't recommend any specific machine.. I think you should probably just head in with clear expectations as far as specs are concerned..
