video cam corder 2 computer

hey, i need some quick answers. is there some way to get stuff of the old camcorders onto your computer? to back them up? my camocrder is nothing new. it uses the old 90 minute tapes...the small ones.: http://www.sas.upenn.edu/computing/instructional/lrc/documentation/imovie/images/video-edit-tape.jpg

Does your camcorder have RCA/S-Video outputs? You could buy a TV tuner or capture card and record it that way.

yes it has s-video out and a/v out...how much would a capture card cost??? would u plz recommend some1?

Better still would be if your camcorder has a digital-out port (likely to be firewire). If it does you can pick up a firewire PCI card dirt cheap and fit it in a few minutes. If it doesn't then yeah, you need a capture card.
