Video Card Advice for The Sims 3

I've just bought The Sims 3 and when I play it it's pretty slow! I'm sure it's my video card because it's only built in and I need to upgrade it anyway, so I was wondering if anyone could suggest the cheapest card that would run the game so smoothly. Attached is a snap shot of my PC's performance for running The Sims 3 and even though it passed, it does not run as I hoped it would! I also will be playing with everything on high so I'd need a card that will be able to handle that :]

What kinda computer/power supply/budget?

Umm I don't really want to spend any more than £50. Power supply is 500W OCZ. Computer specs can be seen in picture above (some of them)

EDIT: I have found an old Radeon 9250 128MB laying around the house, will that be ok?

9250 is worse than that 7050 you have. Id recommend something like a Nvidia 9600GT or something at that budget.

My friend runs the Sims 3 on a 9600GT and it's very smooth. I wouldn't go anything higher than a 9600GT unless you plan on upgrading your power supply too.

You might not see too much of a performance gain though, I'm sure the P4 would bottleneck a 9600GT by quite a bit.

Dude, you don't even need a 9600GT.

My 4670, i have it at 1440/900 on dual monitors, on all high and i get 65FPS constant.

So if you are on a budget and just want to play the game on a decent resoultion on high, then you cuold go with something like these...

9600GT-high
9500GT-med/high
9600GSO high
4670 high
4650 high
4550 med
3650 med
3850 high
8600GT high
8500GT med
8400GS med
All this cards will play that game on medium to high and get solid frame rates.
(on the 8500GT/8400GS, these cards overclock like BEASESTS, you can get an extra 8FPS+ just by overclocking these cards. My old 8400GS, i got an extra 11FPS per game.

Ok thanks for that, I think I can pick up a HD3870 for around £20. Will that be able to run the game smoothly on high? What would be better out of the HD3870, HD 3850 or 8600GT? I have a nVIDIA chipset also, so will the ATI card be compatible?

Here are a few I've found, are they worth getting?
