It must be a card that I can easily find in the UK and fit into the following system ie PCI-E.
It is for my Uncle (who's 70) and he is not going to play demanding games on his PC. Maybe chess etc.
The main use for the machine will be Photoshop CS2, Internet,CD/DVD burning etc..
The budget is £50 or £60.......

To be perfectly honest, i'd look for the cheapest PCI-E video card you can find. Something like an X300SE or 6200 would be fine, since he won't be doing any GPU intensive tasks anyway.

All the 6200 cards that I can find have TurboCache which I don't think I need. (It pinches your RAM doesn't it).

I have to have a look later. Unless someone can put me in right direction while I'm at the football.

Thanks for your reply.....

Would he still be able to play chess type games.
Hehe, even my 10 year old Viper V330 can play chess. Any modern GPU, even integrated, will be more than sufficient.
Is Hypermemory the same as Turbocache???
Yes, it's the same thing.

You're right about Hypermemory not being ideal, both the 6200 and X300SE come in non TC/Hypermemory versions, but i'm not sure about their availability in the UK.

Video Card 101 has a couple of suggestions under Catagory A
