HDMI is superior.

Now, the odd looking port to the left of the HDMI port on your graphics card is called a DisplayPort. I've researched some things about it, but, from what I can see, it's being marketed as a new standard to eliminate VGA and DVI ports. So, in affect, HDMI is still superior.

So, in conclusion for monitors and projectors, and some HDTV's, DisplayPort will be the standard. HDMI will be the above standard. (Almost like USB and Firewire were similar) Exciting stuff, isn't it?

DVI and HDMI are virtuality the same quality and resolution wise. HDMI just carries sound where standard DVI doesnt. Display port is just getting popular because its licence fee is free. Dont really know if Displayport will get anywhere or not.

AMD has already said its dropping VGA and DVI by 2015 for just HDMI.
