video card and my 32" Vizio TV

I just got a Vizio 32" for my room and I am also going to use it as a computer screen. I have a Nvidia Geforce 6800 and the tv is not that clear. I am using a s-video cord. The pc won't let me turn the rez to 1300-768 it stays at 1024-whatever. How can i make it as clear as my 17" computer screeen?
 
you could try going to display properties -> settings -> advanced -> monitor -> then untick the box that says Hide modes that this monitor cannot display then in display properties -> settings change it to the resolution you want. That may help
 
You are limited in resolutions by s-video, a newer card would make the resolution and picture much better. One that supports HD component cables.
 
ok nvm I used my VGA cord and hooked it up to the tv and now its at 1366 X 768 720P HD and its as clear as my 17" so im just going to go buy a DVI to HDMI cord this weekend.
