Video card for dell Dimension E310

That computer doesn't have AGP, you'll have to get PCI. I think the best PCI card is a nvidia FX5500 or something around that range.

I saw just recently that case had a PCIe 1x slot. Not, don't quote me on this, but I know PCIe is interchangable(IE 16x cards will work in 8x slots, and probably lower) So, with some slight mods, you could probably get a 16x card in there, but of course only running at 1x. I don't know what the performace would be, but it's something to possibly think about.

I'm not totally convenced they won't work in 1x slots... They will fit, though you might have to take the back off the 1x slot to compensate for the longer connection. I also know 1x cards work in PCIe 16x slots...

PCIe is the same speed as AGP 1x, I've heard. So even if it's much slower than 16x, it'd probably be a better alternative(if it works) than plain PCI cards.

but realisticly this guy who is using a dell and is asking about pci or agp cards probably cant/doesnt want to make major mods to the motherboard.
