Video Card for Laptop?

I want to get a better video card for my laptop (preferably to play games) and my Dad, who does happen to be a renowned computer expert, told me that I can't put one in my laptop because it won't fit... Is this true? If it us, is there any way I can bypass the problem without buying a desktop computer? Please help!

Your father was right. Laptop's video cards are most generally soldiered to their motherboard, making them non-upgradeable.

Besides just being able to not to fit, there just plain isn't a place to plug video cards into your laptop. Now, there are PCMCIA(PC-Card) video addaptors, but they really are no good. Certainlly not for gamming, mostly just for TV-Out/presentations and such...

You know, I'm not exactly sure anymore, but all I know is that it is a Systemax. My Dad bought it for me about two years ago, and like I said, he's the computer genius, so I know that it is a pretty good one and it has a lot of space for all my music and games, etc.
