Video Card for new system?

I'm trying to decide which video card to buy with this new system I'm building. Gaming will definitely be done on this computer. The specs are going to be an AMD Athlon 4000, with 1GB of RAM (to start), on an Asus A8N-Sli premium motherboard, and at least one 250 GB SATA harddrive. I've never used PCI-express so this is new to me. I want to eventually run dual video cards but finances don't allow it now. Any help or suggestions on brand, specs, what to look for would be great.

Thats gonna leave you with a 6600gt or less. Which with that processor, is a bit of a bottleneck, IMO.

Instead of that AMD 4000+ i would also swtich to an X2 4200+.

around 200 or less if possible
r u kidding me? if you're getting a 4000+ id say get the best of the best if you can. if you're only going to be spending $200 on a card then the video card will be the bottleneck in that system. you'd be better off getting a 3700+ and spending $100 more on the video card if you ask me :)

speaking of bottle necks, would a 3800AMD x2 and a 6800GS be considered a "bottleneck" soon to be SLI'd though
that's decent for a cheap dual core. overclock the proc 400mhz like i did, barely stresses that particular proc.
also 6800gs in dual config is good, but id say get a 78gt or even 79gt if u can dish out the cash

Thanks for the input. I actually went with the 6600 gts and a 3200 athlon 64. it's not the best but it does what i need for now. I don't do any online gaming or anything like that. I'm stuck on dial-up where i live so it's pointless. Besides i can always upgrade later on.
