ok so ive been pretty much goin back and forth trying to pick out a good video card. i have no idea what to pick. the games ill prob be playing will be like WoW, bf2 css ect i need to know what a good card would be to choose, my budget is like no more than 300, but if i dont have too i dont want to pay 300, ivbe been lookin at the x850, 7600 gt, 7900, x1800 but if anyone has any good suggestions be free to tell thanks

personally i'd go with the 7900. The extra 256 meg will make little diff is most games and the X1800Xt was built to compete with a card worse than the 7900 (the 7800GT) and so wont stand upto the Nvida offering

It is the fastest gpu for your price range it also covers the heat problems that all of the other 7900's didnt cover.

If you don't want to spend $200 though go with the 7600gt. It will run those games on medium to max settings fine.

You often end up spending more on a card then what is actually needed to run most games out. If you are trying to build a screaming system you spend the big bucks on the high end cards as well as other items. If you want an adequate system for the usual gaming and web browsing along with playing a few videos you go with a good brand card that's been out for a period of time to cut the overall costs down. I still haven't seen many complaints on the ATI X1300 while not being the biggest and best performer.
