Video Card Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 question.

Any opinions on whether it's better to have a media card separate from the mother board, in case of problems. Or, does this graphics card have few enough problems, outweighed by performance, so that it's not worth worrying about.

Thanx,

Are you just asking about getting a dedicated graphics card? It all depends what you want to do. If you don't plan on playing any games, onboard's fine. However, as soon as you try to play a 3D game, or most any 3D application, you basically will need to upgrade.

It is a DX9 GPU, but it would run Aero very poorly. If all you do with the computer is very basic stuff, then it's fine. But if you want to play games, or do photo/video editing, buying a dedicated card would be the best choice.

Thanx guys,

Yes, I want reliability and virsitility for photo editing. I'm not interestede in Games.

Also, in case anyone has a suggestion, I've been compelled by a Power Mac
G4 ad I saw on Craigs List. I'm interested in running Final Cut Pro. I know it's gone 2nd tier since the G5's debuted, but the power is still there, right! It's a 400mhz with 576mb of memory and a Bus speed of 100mhz. I'm not sure what l2 cache means at 1mb.

Thanks again.
